Hey Friends! As Awaken App is now growing, and more people are aware of its existence, we are now being targeted by the usual types of spammers and fake accounts that you may be used to seeing on other platforms like Facebook or IG for example. Often these profiles will be pretty hollow, only having a profile picture and very little other content on their profile page etc... The usual suspect profile will send a friend request, usually starting with something like 'Hello Dear....", and after a few messages, may try to get you to leave the platform and chat with them on another chat app, such as WhatsApp or Google chat for example...
Our best advice on when to accept a friend request from someone you don't know on social media, is to always checkout their profile page first, and if there is nothing there, or not enough content there to make you feel like they are in fact a real person with a real account, posting real posts...then do NOT accept their request, and simply REPORT their account to Admin using the 3 dots on the top right of their profile page.
The vast majority of reported 'fake' or 'spammer' accounts are removed and blocked within 24 hours by our Admin team.
Finally, we're going to be releasing some important updates to Awaken App in the coming weeks which will help to control the problem, but it is unrealistic to say at this point that we will ever be able to completely stop it from occuring, as sadly, it is a symptom of our society which seems to be growing.
If you have concerns about any account being fake or spammy in nature, please always report to Admin, and please always leave a reason as to why you made the report, which does really help when we assess each case.
